The PBX Operator will operate the telephones console and other communication and office equipment. Perform various department and clerical duties such as answers telephone calls consisting of multiple lines and extensions. Exhibit Service Excellence at all times by answering the phone with a smile, going above and beyond to ensure callers are routed to their desired location or assisting callers in identifying the proper department in which to be transferred.
Answers basic questions about the organization to callers who do not need to be transferred to other extensions. This may include providing directions, hours of operation or services provided. Protects the consumer’s right to have information about them held confidential.
Generates the daily census and day-end reports according to hospital policy. Monitors various alarm systems and notifies proper personnel when necessary. Ensures adequate supplies and that equipment is in working order or is designated for repair. Participates in unit QA program.
