The Food Service Worker performs a variety of cleaning tasks, maintaining clean and sanitary condition in all Food Service area.  Include dishwashing, pot washing, general sanitation, cleaning and use of kitchen equipment. Assist in the service and storage of food.  Professional behavior is require at all times.  Adheres to Hospitals code of Conduct.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and delivers food trays to hospital patients
  • Prepares, assembles and distribution/delivery of patient trays, retail and catering services, and other food related services in a timely and sanitary manner while focusing on a consistently high level of customer service.
  • Maintains dish room, washes dishes, utensils, pots and pans.
  • Removes and disposes of trash and cleans and maintains food service areas as directed. 
  • Assembles and serves food items to hospital staff in cafeteria.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Follows HCCA rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.
  • Carries out the mission, vision, and values of HCCA


Experience, Education & Competency Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent, preferred.
  • Experience in dishwashing desirable, preferred, but not required.
  • Able to read, write and speak English, follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work under pressure in a professional manner.      
  • Able to make decisions using discretion and independent judgment.
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task and manage time to meet deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  • Must work well with all levels of persons and personalities.
