The EVS Housekeeper/Laudry Tech is responsible for the collection, processing and distributin of hospital linen and personal clothing of residents in the Skilled Nuring Facility.



Collects soiled linen and sorts accordign to instructions.

  • Collects soiled linen from usign areas accordign to schedule or as needed.  
  • Follows proper procedures when sorting and handling line

Loads and unloads washers and dryers.

  • Loads/unloads washers/dryers according to instructions and protects machinery from overloading.  Operates machinery according to proper procedure.

Cleans laundry areas and empties trash daily.

  • Cleans laudry room and cleans lint from driers daily.

Washes, dries, folds and distributes hospital linen, and personal clothing of residents.

  • Understand and follows all procedures to maintain a high level of quality work according to policies.

Replenishes stock on laundry cart and rechecks linen in all departments before end of shift.

  • Makes sure all department have their required stock of clean linen daily.

Knowledge of and followos infection control procedures.

  • Must know and follow all infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment. Must attend in-services as required to learn and use proper procedures.

Demostrates confidentiality and sensitivity to residents' rights.

  • All people are treated in a polite, caring manner.  Those with concersn are made to feel that the concern will be treated seriously.  Interchanges are handled in a professional manner so as to convey competency to deal with issues at hand.

Proper use of chemical and chemical solutions, proper use of equipment and the care of.

  • Learn and use proper dilution for all chemicals.  Learn the proper use of equipment and equipment care.  Meet OSHA standards for safety and learn t use of MSDS labels.

Perform other related duties as required.

  • In a cooperative manner completes special assignments within allotted time.  When completed with own duties before shift end takes initiative to seek out other duties.

Support the Housekeeping staff when staffing shortages require.



  • High School or GED equivalent


  • One year laundry experience in an institution or business, prefered.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals/MSDS labels.
  • Knowledge of functions and cycles of washing and drying machines.
  • Abiltiy to communicate clearly in both oral and written froms usign the English launguage.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, patients, physicians, peers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Basic Math
  • Ability to cross-train with others in EVS department.
  • Ability to work indenpendently.
