Responsibilities

The Assistant Dietary Lead/Cook assists the Dietary Manager in directing the work force, reviewing menus, updating policies and procedures, assuring all personel are trained in safe food handling practices and food preparation.  Assists in ordering supplies and developing menus under the guidance of a Registered Dietician and the Dietary Manager.  Covers some shifts as a cook, as the need arises.

 

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Title 22 food service standards preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable sanitation standards within 3 months
  • One year experience in hospital food management with knowledge of special dietetic diets and food preparation techniques, preferred.
  • Two to three years preferred in quantity cooking.
  • Some knowledge of inventorying, storing and ordering food.
