Responsibilities

The Medical Imaging Expeditor possesses a sound understanding of general operations and patient flow within the Medical Imaging Department.  Must be familiar with the department’s role in the provision of patient care and have a solid understand of the department’s interaction with other clinical divisions of the hospital.  Responsible for transporting inpatients from nursing units to the department and back in a timely, efficient manner using the proper equipment and adhering to appropriate safety precautions.  Assists with clerical duties as assigned and practices excellent customer service skills at all times.  Assist technologists with patient care as needed and ensures the comfort of all Medical Imaging customers during their time in the department.  Works under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging and performs to the satisfaction of the Supervisor or his/her designee.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
  • Knowledge of medical and/or hospital business practices is preferred.
  • Maintains current CPR certificate.
  • CNA with medical office experience preferred but not mandatory.  
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
