The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will support the doctor’s work and actively facilitate patients’ recovery. Provides on-going primary care to patients in the Emergency Room; promotes and maintains health by providing medical services.  The position includes supervising of other staff and collaborates with supervising physician when appropriate. Will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.


Essential Functions

  • Assess patients’ health and their demand and aim to fulfil them as well as possible.
  • Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
  • Inform physicians about any problems or discrepancies that might arise
  • Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions
  • Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events
  • Attend to emergencies
  • Provide help during surgeries
  • Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures
  • Provide therapeutic treatments
  • Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for the patients
  • Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards
  • Collaborate effectively with team members of various specializations
  • Additional duties may be assigned.


Experience, Education & Competency Requirements

  • Current CA Furnishing License
  • Current DEA License
  • Current CPR card.
  • Current ACLS card.
  • 2-year experience advance practice, preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical guidelines and procedures regarding examination, therapy and recovery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to make decisions using discretion and independent judgment.
  • Able to troubleshoot and be resourceful in resolving any problems or issues that arise
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task and manage time to meet deadlines and time constraints
  • Ability to work with and supervise others as needed. 
  • Problem solving skills
  • Must work well with all levels of persons and personalities.

 For Nurse Practitioner:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Registered Nursing (BSN).
  • Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner, preferred
  • Possession of a current certificate of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, preferred.
  • Current and valid CA Nurse Practitioner License.
  • 2-years’s NP experience, preferred
  • 3-years’s acute care clinical practice experience

For Physician Assistant:

  • Current and Valid California Physician Assistant License.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree, preferred.
  • Possesion of a current certificate of completion from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, preferred.
  • 2-years experience advance practice, preferred.
  • 2 years PA experience, preferred.
